Zones Training and Traditional Training Classes
Introducing our NEW Zones Training Program…
WHAT IS IT? Do you really want to have a well trained dog, but just can’t find the time to commit on an regular basis? Can you make it to some of the classes but need to miss a few? No PROBLEM! With this new approach, you will be able to come to class on YOUR terms, and follow YOUR schedule. Instead of a traditional training class where you need to attend each lesson or fall behind, ZONES training allows you to jump right in to any class and pick up wherever you left off, whether it was last week or last MONTH! We believe that this new format will allow our customers to train their dogs WITHOUT worrying about all of today’s daily pressures getting in the way.
HOW DOES IT WORK? Quite simply, you register for a series of sessions, be it 6, 12 or a lifetime! After attending one orientation seminar at either location you and your dog can come to any session offered at either location, at any time! Each lesson builds on itself, so you will always find you and your dog being challenged and learning new skills, but NOT overwhelmed if you should have to miss a week or two. You get to work at your own pace as you and your dog progress through the different zones! This program will be FUN and challenging!!
By the end of each zone of training, your dog will know how to:
ZONE 1
● Greet friends and strangers appropriately ● Learn to respond to his/her name EVERYTIME! ● Focus Game – watch your human when distractions are present ● Learn to begin to walk on a loose leash ● Learn to lie down in a RELAXED manner ● Learn to “Go to Bed,” or retreat to a comfy place
ZONE 2
● Sit, Stand and Lie down with a verbal cue only ● Sit politely for petting or a brief exam ● Come when called reliably ● Walk on a loose lead with a distraction present ● Sit and Wait reliably ● Leave an object in an owners hand or on the ground ● Longer relaxed down waits ● Sit and stay with other dogs present.
ZONE 3
● Come when called while passing another dog or human ● Walk on loose lead past multiple distractions ● Leave objects on the floor while walking past ● Reliably execute an extended sit wait and down wait with owner moving away ● Meet friendly people and dogs on the street
Attend one of our FREE orientations usually held the last Friday of every month in South Burlington and the last Saturday of every month in Richmond. (See the South Burlington schedule and the Richmond schedule to find out what time the orientation is being held)

Traditional Training Classes:
Introducing our NEW Reactive Rover Class:
Have you stopped taking your dog for walks or out in public because of what happens when they see another dog or person? Does he or she become unmanageable….barking, growling, lunging and frantic to the point where you want to run away in embarrassment? If this sounds like something you’ve experienced, there IS help! Join Bill Grant for our new class, specifically geared towards helping you and your dog work as a team to STOP these unwanted behaviors once and for all!!! IT CAN BE DONE!
As you begin to explore how, when and why your dog goes from lovable to lunging, Bill will give you the tools to help your dog remain calm, focused and appropriate. With a bit of practice and patience your dog will learn to be more self-controlled, be able to look at another dog without reacting, and find a more desirable behavior to exhibit that’s fun and MUCH more appropriate!!!
Space is limited so sign-up today!
Reactive Rover Classes will be held at our South Burlington location starting on Friday November 4th at 7:00pm-8:00pm for 6 weeks.
Come Here-Yes, I Mean Now!: This is a course with total emphasis on a steady, reliable recall. Especially for dogs that like to laugh and run the other way when called, but also for anyone who wants a more reliable response when they call their dogs! **NOTE: Due to the large amount of off lead work, this class is limited to dogs that get along well with other dogs. This class is for four weeks and will be held at our South Burlington location starting on Friday November 4th at 8:15-9:15pm and at our Richmond location on Saturday November 5th at 10:15am-11:15am.
Puppy Kindergarten:
For all puppies aged 7-17 weeks. Emphasis is on Good Manners, Socialization, Basic Training and Safety. The very best way to start off on the right track! Don’t let this one pass you by! This class is for six weeks and will be held at our Richmond location starting on Saturday November 5th at 11:30am-12:30pm. Please do not bring your dog on the first class.
Good Manners/ Middle School:
For dogs of any age over 17 weeks. An introduction to all of the basics listed above, plus extra tutoring for those “perfectly normal” doggie habits that we humans find undesirable. Everything needed for a well-mannered pet in any situation is covered.
